Every local authority has to produce a five year Transport Plan. Strategic Environmental and Integrated Planning issues tend to make these weighty. Hampshire's plan is no exception.

A CD-ROM enables the County to distribute the plan at low cost and with a small footprint across their offices and elsewhere.

The brief was clear. Get the message about Dulwich College's quality education to the world. Interviews with the master, video of the school, audio of orchestras and departmental portfolios all add up to a major resource.

The CD was authored in HTML and Javascript with active links direct to the School web site for topical and changing information. Autorun, an audio and video test page, Flash inserts and other features were included.

Thousands of copies of the CD have gone overseas and across Britain, at a fraction of the cost of the paper prospectus which the school used before.

Main Multimedia also provided a full back up technical support service for the product but we have not had one support call for this robust product.

So you want an interactive CD? This resource for schools has been our most successful product. But be aware that it took a year to make and there are more than forty thousand files in it!

The CD emulates the primary evidence gathering required as part of the National Curriuculum with emphasis on the process of observation as used by a natural scientist.

All resources are transferrable via the Windows clipboard to other applications. They can all also be printed if desired.

As well as a catalogue, the CD also contains a method of finding the name of an unknown species by botanical keys, a planting guide and a full text catalogue of traditional, modern and medical uses.

It's easy to use, quick to learn and has proven very popular.
